How can I show multiple types of flooring in one floor plan?

Everyone's space is unique!

If the room you're designing in our floor planner tool has multiple types of flooring, you can achieve this effect using our Shapes tool!

  1. Start by adding the primary flooring to your space
    1. Click into the plan and then click Fill
    2. Select the finish you want and then make any adjustments to the pattern size
  2. Click Shapes in the left navigation menu
  3. Click the square tool (or the polygon tool for a more customizable shape!)
  4. Remove the border of the shape by clicking the 3px in the top edit menu and changing it to 0px
  5. Click Fill and add the additional type of flooring for your space
  6. Tweak the shape until it's just right in your space
  7. Use the Layers tool (the stack of papers in the top edit bar) to send the shape to the back so that other floor plan assets can be added on top
  8. Lock it in place so you don't accidentally move it while you work on the rest of your plan

And ✨tada! You've created a room with multiple types of flooring!
