What is Riffing?
Riffing is how you respond to another member's design with your own take on it. When you riff on a post in the Conversation Pit, you open a lite version of the studio, make your changes, and share your interpretation as a response, all without touching the original.
It's the difference between leaving a comment and showing your work.

How to riff on a design
- Open a post in the Conversation Pit.
- Tap or click 💡Riff
- Choose a design mode
- Make your changes/add your suggestions
- Tap Done to share your riff as a response on the original post.

What you can do in a riff
Riffing gives you access to the studio, with a limited about of free tokens to use to make changes. In a riff you can:
In Mockup mode:
- Swap, move, and adjust products on the canvas
- Use Magic editing tools (Magic BG, Magic Finish, Magic Angle, etc.)
Magic Edits are AI-powered. Read more about Spoak's stance on AI.
Does riffing cost tokens?
You are granted 1000 free tokens to create your design.
Who can riff?
Any member with a Spoak account can riff on a public Conversation Pit post. Guests (not logged in) can view posts but cannot riff.
Your riff, your design
A riff is its own post, attached to the original. The original designer's work is never changed. Your riff shows your interpretation, and other members can riff on your riff.
