How do I add shapes to my design?

Shapes let you add geometric elements directly to your canvas — useful for custom tile layouts, accent walls, backsplashes, or any area you want to fill with a color or pattern.

How to add a shape

1. Click Text & Shapes in the left sidebar.
2. Select Shapes.
3. Click the shape you want to add.
4. The shape appears on your canvas. Drag it into position and resize as needed.

Available shapes

• Line — a straight line, useful for dividers or architectural details
• Dotted line — a dashed line variant
• Arrow — for annotations or directional callouts
• Square — a filled rectangle
• Circle — a filled circle
• Triangle — a filled triangle
• Pentagon — a five-sided polygon
• Hexagon — a six-sided polygon, useful for hex tile layouts
• Star — a five-pointed star
• Custom shape — draw your own freeform polygon
• Paint dollop — an organic blob shape for decorative use
• Swatch — a fabric-swatch style shape

What you can do with shapes

Once a shape is on the canvas, select it and then click edit to change its fill color, resize it, rotate it, adjust its opacity, or layer it behind or in front of other items. Shapes work well as stand-ins for custom tile patterns, painted accent walls, rugs, or any area of the room you want to represent without using a specific product.
